Finding Your Perfect Bra Size: A Guide to Luxury Comfort
At Anise Lifestyle Lingerie, we believe that the foundation of confidence and elegance starts with the perfect fit. Discovering your ideal bra size is essential for both comfort and style, and we are here to make the process as seamless as possible. Follow these simple steps to find your perfect match and indulge in the ultimate luxury lingerie experience.
Step 1: Measure Your Band Size
To begin, you will need a soft tape measure, a mirror, and ideally, someone to assist you.
-
Position the Tape Measure: Stand in front of a mirror and wrap the tape measure around your ribcage, directly under your bust. Ensure it is snug but not tight, and parallel to the floor.
-
Take the Measurement: Write down the number in inches. If you are in between sizes, round up to the nearest whole number.
-
Calculate Your Band Size: If the number is even, add 4 inches. If it is odd, add 5 inches. For example, if you measure 32 inches, your band size is 36.
Step 2: Measure Your Bust Size
Next, we will determine the fullest part of your bust to find your cup size.
-
Position the Tape Measure: Wrap the tape measure around the fullest part of your bust, keeping it parallel to the floor and straight across your back.
-
Take the Measurement: Ensure you are not pulling the tape too tight nor leaving it too loose. Note the number in inches.
Step 3: Calculate Your Cup Size
Now that you have both measurements, it's time to find your cup size.
-
Subtract Your Band Size from Your Bust Measurement: The difference in inches will help determine your cup size.
-
Use the following guide:
-
1 inch difference: A cup
-
2 inches difference: B cup
-
3 inches difference: C cup
-
4 inches difference: D cup
-
And so on...
-
For example, if your band size is 36 and your bust measurement is 39 inches, the difference is 3 inches, which corresponds to a C cup. Therefore, your bra size would be 36C.
Step 4: Confirm the Fit
Even with precise measurements, it is crucial to try on bras to ensure the perfect fit, as different styles and brands can vary.

-
Check the Band: The band should fit snugly around your ribcage, providing the main support. It should lie straight across your back without riding up. You should be able to comfortably fit two fingers under the band.
-
Evaluate the Cups: The cups should fully encapsulate your breasts without causing spillage or gaping. If there is overflow, consider going up a cup size. If there is space or wrinkling, try a smaller cup size.
-
Adjust the Straps: The straps should provide additional support without digging into your shoulders or slipping. Adjust them so they comfortably lift your bust but still allow you to move freely.
-
Check the Center Gore: The center part of the bra (the gore) should lie flat against your sternum. If it does not, the band size might be too big or the cups too small.
-
Move Around: Do not just stand still when trying on bras. Move your arms, bend over, and twist to ensure the bra stays in place and remains comfortable throughout various movements.
Tips for Different Body Types

-
Fuller Busts: Opt for bras with sturdier underwires, wider straps, and a higher center gore for added support.
-
Petite Frames: Look for bras with narrower bands and straps to avoid overwhelming your frame.
-
Asymmetrical Breasts: If one breast is larger than the other, fit the bra to the larger breast and use removable pads to balance out the smaller side.
